Jerry Hadrava of Iowa is the originator of a large number of hostas which were included in his "Rosedale" series. Several of his plants had a seedling he named "RS-BS" as either the pollen or seed parent. To our knowledge, he never named or registered this prolific hosta outside of his breeding program. We have a list of hostas that have this one in their background.

This cultivar was listed as a breeding plant used in the development of the hybrids, 'Rosedale Pie-eyed' and 'Rosedale Little Puddle'.
