This cultivar is a cross between H. 'Sagae' × H. 'Grey Piecrust' that was registered by
Roy Herold of Massachusetts in 2000.
Very pale
lavender flowers appear from late June into July on this giant size (30 inches
high by 65 inches wide) mound of
blue-green slightly rippled foliage.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), this cultivar "...ranks highly in the area of good
blue foliage color and attractive marginal rippling. The result is a
spectacular, large size mound of rippled, blue-green foliage."
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "Use as a background plant or single specimen.
Vigorous...Leaves are slow to assume their optimum width."
