Registered by Mark Zilis of Illinois in 2009, this
upright growing cultivar is a tissue culture sport of H. 'Ogon Tachi'.
It is a large size hosta about 18 inches tall by 40
inches wide with medium green foliage that has golden
yellow marginal variegation. The leaves are ovate, slightly wavy and slightly shiny on top. Tubular flowers
bloom from mid-August into September on scapes up to 40
inches tall.
Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled,
A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term ogon or oogon
as gold or yellow and the term tachi as upright, 'Tachi Gibōshi' or
H. rectifolia.
