Clarence
Owens of Michigan developed this cultivar as a cross of H. 'Butternut Hill' × H. 'Chartreuse Wedge' which he registered in 1999. It forms a
giant size
mound about 46 inches high with a spread of as much as 8 feet.
The flowers have H. montana type flower scape buds and the
flowers open in July. Flower scapes can reach up to 53 inches or
more. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "This massive mound of shiny,
green foliage foliage greatly impressed me...It ranks as one of
the largest cultivars in existence."
