Hosta 'Green Acres'

This giant size (35 inches high) hosta was registered by Julia Geissler of Nebraska in 1970. Its foliage is moderately wavy and elliptic-ovate shaped with good substance. Pale lavender flowers open in July.

According to The Hosta Handbook by Mark Zilis (2000), "...unidentified parentage, but it has many characteristics in common with 'Fortunei Gigantea' in both foliage and flower."

"AHS Eunice Fisher Award, 1973...A large H. montana form. Many similar forms exist and have been named and most conform in part to the diagnosis of H. montana macrophylla."

There is a cultivar with the French name 'Les Arpents Verts' which means Green Acres.
