Originated by Marco Fransen of Fransen Hostas in the Netherlands this non-registered hosta is a medium size (12 inches high by 24 inches wide) sport of H. 'Ripple Effect'. The bright yellow leaves are elliptic, wavy, somewhat unruly and heavily rippled. By late summer, the color changes to chartreuse. Pale lavender, tubular flowers bloom from mid-July into August.

In the Country Garden & Gift website says, "'Going Bananas' has long, wavy and twisted, bright yellow leaves with the same heavy leaf substance the entire 'June' family is famous for."
