Hosta 'Goblin'

This cultivar of unidentified parentage was originated by Ran Lydell of Cooks Nursery and Eagle Bay Gardens in New York and registered on his behalf by Kevin Walek (Hosta Registrar) in 2009. It has slightly wavy grayish green foliage that changes to medium green later in the season. A large size hosta, 'Goblin' grows to about 20 inches in height with a spread of around 58 inches. Very pale lavender flowers bloom in July followed by viable seeds.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Origin: H. 'Halcyon' hybrid...A vigorous, good performer...Scapes are leaning at the tips."

Registration information lists the parentage as unknown.
