This cultivar of unidentified parentage was originated by
Ran Lydell of
Cooks Nursery and Eagle Bay Gardens in New York and registered on his behalf by
Kevin Walek (Hosta Registrar) in 2009. It has slightly wavy grayish green
foliage that changes to medium green later in the
season. A large size hosta, 'Goblin' grows to about 20
inches in height with a spread of around 58 inches. Very
pale lavender flowers bloom in July followed by viable
seeds.
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "Origin: H. 'Halcyon' hybrid...A vigorous, good
performer...Scapes are leaning at the tips."
