This cultivar is a sport of H. 'Ginsu
Knife' which was originated by
Bob Solberg of Green Hill Farm in North Carolina and
registered in 2005 by
Jim Schwarz of
Jim's Hostas of Iowa (now owned by
Uniquely
Hostas of Wisconsin) . This upright plant
grows to a medium size about 15 inches high by 25 inches
wide. Its medium green foliage has a yellow marginal
variegation which turns white as the season progresses.
The leaves are moderately wavy, moderately twisted, lanceolate and slightly shiny on top. Pure white,
tubular flowers bloom from mid-July into August. It sets
viable seeds.
