This
medium size, non-registered hosta was originated by
Jeff
Miller
of Land
of the
Giants
Hosta
Farm in
Wisconsin. The leaf color is "wild" with a combination of
yellow, chartreuse and green with some streaking. It has
an upright growth habit and the foliage has very heavy
substance. The leaves are somewhat narrow and long
giving the plant a "spiked" appearance. It bears
lavender flowers from late July into August followed by
viable seeds.
For
those of us who are senior citizens, Wild Thing was a
rock song by The Troggs from the mid-1960s...over half a
century ago already.
