Originated by Jeff Miller of Land of the Giants Hosta Farm in Wisconsin, this non-registered cultivar is of unidentified parentage. It is a medium size (15 inches tall by 20 inches wide) hosta with shiny very dark green foliage. The leaves are slightly convexly cupped and come to a point.

There is also a cultivar named H. 'Lakeside Black Satin'.
