Hosta 'Gemini'

A giant size (42 inches high by 36 inches wide) sport of H. 'Friar Tuck', this upright, slow growing cultivar was registered by Jim Husemann registered in 2012. The leaves have thick substance and are dark green with a lighter green marginal variegation. They are slightly rippled, nearly round, moderately wavy and have very shiny tops. Pale lavender, tubular flower bloom in July. It sets seeds but the viability was not known at the time of registration.

According to the registration report, this cultivar has the very unusual trait of having "two leaves per leaf stalk." Also, the leaf center becomes a lighter green as the season progresses resulting in the loss of the variegation.
