this cultivar is
a very large size (28 inches high by 32 inches wide)
sport of H. 'Ming Jade'. It is an upright growing hosta with light greenish blue-green foliage that has a
cream to chartreuse colored marginal variegation.
The
broadly ovate leaves are moderately corrugated and have
a glaucous bloom on top. Near white flowers with the
occasional tinge of purple bloom from late June into
July on scapes up to 40 inches tall. It does not set
seeds.
The registration materials state: "...Large shiny
corrugated leaves with variable cream to chartruese
margins provide a nice background for the nearly white
flowers...glaucous bloom early leaving a nice sheen
later in the season." |
