this slow growing cultivar is a seedling of a seedling
of H. 'Dorothy
Benedict' ×
H. yingeri.
It is a large size hosta about 22 inches high by 39
inches wide with dark green foliage and a creamy yellow
marginal variegation.
The leaves are broadly ovate to
nearly round with a glaucous bloom on top. The are
slightly corrugated with widely spaced veins and have
some celadon colored streaks between the center and the
margin color. Medium lavender flowers on scapes up to 18
inches tall bloom from mid-July into August. It does not
set seeds. The
registration materials state: "...Leathery texture
provides good slug/snail resistance. Dense flower
clusters. Some leaves are very rounded while others are
not so round - a bit like crepes...blue-green bloom
fades in the heat leaving dark green centers." |
