this small size (7.6 inches high by 20.5 inches wide) cultivar is an
open-pollinated seedling of an unnamed seedling of
H. gracillima. Its medium green leaves have yellow,
cream and white streaked variegation. The foliage is
lanceolate, relatively flat and very shiny on top. Deep
purple flowers bloom from July into August on scapes 14
to 22 inches high followed by viable seeds. The
registration materials state: "...Relatively stable
variegation, useful in hybridizing either as pod or
pollen parent, nice reddish pods.."
This
is the name of a broom used by one of the Quidditch
World Cup competition in a Harry Potter book. |
