A sport of H. 'Fragrant Bouquet', this non-registered cultivar was originated by Marco Fransen and Jan van den Top in the Netherlands. Forming a large size (24 inches high) mound, it has fragrant, pale lavender flowers in August.

Mark Zilis (2009) notes, "...'Fragrant Dream' differs from 'Fragrant Bouquet' in having a darker green center and a better growth rate."

In an article in The Hosta Journal (2016 Vol. 47 No 2), the author described this plant's flowers as having a "Strong" fragrance compared to other hostas.
