of Wisconsin in
2020, this
medium size (16 inches high by 38 inches wide)
cultivar is of unidentified parentage. It is an
intensely blue-green hosta with nearly round foliage
that is slightly rippled, slightly cupped and heavily
corrugated with a glaucous bloom on top. Near white
flowers bloom from mid-July into August.
The registration
materials state: "...Nearly round corrugated leaves
lay out in a fairly flat form that appears to be
floating above the ground...'Floating on Air' is a
volunteer seedling that grew next to ‘Bamse’. It has
similar plant habit as ‘Bamse’ (but a little taller), so
it is possible that ‘Bamse’ is a parent of
‘Floating on Air'." |
