Walters Gardens,
Inc. of Michigan and
Clarence (C.H.) Falstad, III of Michigan registered this sport of H. 'Amber Maiden' in 1993. The medium size (13 inches high by 18 inches wide) mound bears pale lavender flowers
in July.
According to
The Hostapedia by
Mark Zilis (2009), this cultivar "...is at its best when young...As it
matures, some leaves tend to develop the
drawstring effect, though
I've never seen a fully engulfed clump."
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states in its Hosta Hybrids for Connoisseurs chapter: "Very
slow to increase and lacking in vigor, which is disappointing since
it is such an attracive small hosta."
