This cultivar was listed on the
MyHostas Database website.
It is an historic hosta which was shipped from England
to
Chet Tompkins' mother, Cynthia in 1924. She used it
in her hosta hybridizing efforts. The plant was said to
be medium to large size, "rough" and faintly blue-tinted
gray. It is slightly smaller than the typical 'Elegans'
types of
H. 'Sieboldiana' and had a "silvery patina" on
the leaf surface.
