A seedling of H. 'Saishu Jima', this cultivar was registered by Peter Ruh of Ohio in 1998 on behalf of the originator, Pauline Banyai of Michigan. It forms a mound about 12 inches tall with a spread of 26 inches. The shiny green foliage is slightly wavy. Pale purple flowers bloom in August.
