This is one
of those cases where there are two hostas with the
same name. One is registered and,
therefore, the "official" version of H. 'Drama
Queen'
while the other is a non-registered plant and needs
to be renamed to avoid further confusion.
A
large size (24 inches high by 40 inches wide)
cultivar of unidentified parentage was registered by Chick Wasitis of Bridgewood Gardens in 2011. The medium green leaves with
white marginal variegation are lightly wavy, broadly
ovate and slightly shiny on top. Tubular shaped
flowers bloom from June into July in Virginia.

'Drama Queen' (Wasitis)
This non-registered
cultivar of unidentified parentage (H. yingeri
background suspected) was originated by
Dean
Stark of
Iowa. A medium size hosta, it has shiny, very dark green
foliage which is very shiny on the bottom.

On
the
Hosta Library, there is a third hosta named
'Drama Queen' shown with Alttara
Scheer of Connecticut as the originator.
