This
tissue culture sport of H. 'Seventh
Heaven' was registered by
John Kulpa of Michigan in
1997. It forms a medium size (14 inches high by 24 inches
wide) mound of slightly wavy,
ovate-shaped
foliage of average substance. In August, it
produces fragrant, near white flowers followed by viable seeds.
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states in its Hosta Hybrids for Connoisseurs chapter: "A
vigorous, rapid increaser. This superb hosta has many attributes
although it can be difficult to cultivate. A late spring frost
can decimate the first flush of leaves and greatly retard and
distort the second flush...Large, striking, variegated bracts subtend the raceme."
In an article in
The
Hosta Journal (2016 Vol. 47 No 2), the author
described this plant's flowers as having a "Medium" fragrance
compared to other hostas.
