This cultivar was originated by
Hajime Sugita of Japan and registered by
Peter Ruh of Ohio in 2002. It is the result of a cross of H. longipes x H.
pycnophylla which
grows into a medium size hosta about 10 inches in height
with a spread of 30 inches. The medium green colored leaves are
heavily rippled and have red petioles. It bears purple flowers
in August and September.
