Registered by Hugo
Philips of Belgium in 2010, this
medium size (15 inches high by 23 inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Ogon Iwa'.
The medium blue-green leaves are lightly folded, ovate, slightly wavy and wider near the top. According to the registration materials: "...broad wavy upright petioles give the impression of snake
heads..." Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled,
A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term iwa as rock, Iwa Gibōshi or
H. longipes and the term ogon or oogon as gold or yellow.
