A large size (18 inches
high by 40 inches wide) seedling of H. 'Dorothy
Benedict', this non-registered hosta was originated
by Dr. Ralph (Herb) Benedict of Michigan.
It is an
H. 'Sieboldiana'-type of plant with blue-green
foliage that is heavily streaked with white. The leaves
are broadly ovate with deep veins and thick substance.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "The variegation...tends to be very unstable, with some
leaves sporting to blue-green, others tending toward a
white-centered form."
