This cultivar is a
seedling of H. 'Lucky Fifty' which was registered in
2001 by
John Kulpa of Michigan. It is a large size,
upright growing plant
about 24 inches high with a spread of around 45 inches.
The broadly ovate, dark green foliage has a golden-yellow colored medial
(center) variegation. Its petioles are dark green with a
yellow center also. Pale lavender flowers with stripes bloom from
late June into July followed by viable seeds.
The
registration materials state: "...the size and
color are notable...center becomes bright gold in July."
