Planwerk Staudengärtnerei
nursery in Germany, this non-registered
cultivar is a sport of H. ‘Night before
Christmas'. It is a medium size hosta with short
petioles and is smaller than the mother plant. The
leaves are dark green with a very narrow white medial
(center) variegation. They are ovate shaped, slightly
wavy and smooth textured. Pale lavender flowers are
produced on 42 inch tall scapes from mid-July into
August. It is sterile and, therefore, does not set
seeds.
Christmas Sports - Named for the
fact that the originator and his children always go
skiing on Christmas morning.
The
