Volker Eschenbach of
Planwerk Staudengärtnerei
nursery in Germany, this non-registered
cultivar is a sport of H. ‘Halcyon'. This medium
size hosta has blue-green foliage with a greenish
tissue that extends from the base of the leaf up into some of the
leaf veins. The foliage has smooth texture, slight
waviness and thick substance. Pale bluish lavender flowers
on 28 inch high scapes bloom from late July into August
followed by viable seeds.
The
largest lake in Bavaria is the Chiemsee, which is
otherwise known as the "Bavarian Sea".
