H.
plantaginea. It is a medium size (11 inches high by
22 inches wide) hosta with medium green foliage. The
ovate leaves are slightly wavy and very shiny on top.
Its petioles have light red speckles which occasionally
extend into the leaf blade. It bears fragrant, purple
and white, tubular flowers from August into September
and sets viable seeds.
According to the Registration materials:
"Shiny green sun-loving hosta with large fragrant
flowers. Buds show a unique purple/white/purple
coloration."
