This cultivar with an
H.
'Sieboldiana' background was imported from
Japan by
Gus Krossa of Michigan in
1968 and was known as H. 'Krossa F-9'. Subsequently,
Peter Ruh of Ohio registered it on Gus' behalf in 1981. The large size hosta grows to about 26
inches in height and 5 feet in diameter with heavily corrugated
foliage. It bears near white flowers in dense clusters from late
June into July. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Peter Ruh named this cultivar
after Gus Krossa's street when he lived in Livonia, Michigan."
