A sport of H. 'Pin Stripe
Sister', this cultivar is a non-registered hosta from
Alex Malloy of New York. It is a medium size plant about 18 inches high by
30 inches wide with
leaves that are broadly
ovate shaped, slightly corrugated, slightly wavy and slightly
shiny on top. Very pale lavender, tubular flowers bloom from late June into July.
I
strongly suspect that this hosta is named for Babe Ruth i.e. The
Bronx Bomber although a Google search would indicate several
other alternative explanations.
