Hosta 'Brenda's Beauty'

A sport of H. 'Gold Standard' this cultivar was registered by Bob Keller of Illinois in 1992. The plant forms a large size mound about 18 inches high by 40 inches wide at maturity. Its leaves are slightly dimpled, slightly cupped and heart shaped. Pale lavender flowers bloom in mid-July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "The specimen...growing at the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Garden makes a stunning specimen. I've seen hundreds of 'Gold Standard' sports, and this may be the best of all."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Among the best of the many medio-variegated sports from H. 'Gold Standard'...Conspicuous netted veining is visible in the variegated portion of the leaf."
