Originated by Eric Smith of England, this non-registered cultivar is of unidentified parentage. It was listed in the catalog of a German perennials nursery prior to 2009 according to Mark Zilis.

Called 'Blaue Welle' in German nurseries. There is also a cultivar named H. 'Blue Waves'
