This Tardiana-type hosta
was originated
by
Dr. Ralph (Herb)
and Dorothy Benedict of Michigan and registered on
their behalf by
Rod Kuenster and
The American Hosta
Society in
2010,
this cultivar is of unidentified parentage. It
forms a miniature size (5 inches high by 10 inches wide) hosta
with blue-green foliage. The leaves are broadly ovate, slightly corrugated and
shiny on top with thick substance. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "I've seen this listed as 'Valentine Blue'...No doubt, it
is one of the many descendants of 'Dorset Blue' or 'Blue Moon' from Herb Benedict."
