This is one of those cases where there are two hostas with the same name. One is registered and, therefore, the "official" version of H. 'Blue Suede Shoes' while the other non-registered plant needs to be renamed to avoid further confusion.

This hybrid of H. 'Sea Prize' × H. 'Maekawa' was registered by Dr. Ed Elslager of Michigan in 2001. It grows into a medium size hosta about 16 inches in height with a spread of around 46 inches. Its dark green foliage has good foliage and is streaked with creamy yellow. Pale lavender flowers bloom from mid-July into August.
