Walters Gardens,
Inc. of Michigan registered this streaked sport of H. 'Blue
Umbrellas' in 2005. It forms a medium size (15 inches high
by 24 inches wide) mound of
foliage with very pale lavender flowers in early July.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Inevitably, some shoots sport to more
stable forms
e.g. white-centered, white-margined, or all-green. Be sure to
cut out non-true shoots as they appear."
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "Becomes more cream or blue-green on the margins
and center as summer progresses. The scapes are streaked blue-green and cream to
ivory. Increases rapidly...Reasonably stable for a streaked hosta. A wonderful
breeding plant."
