This medium size (12 inches high by 36 inches
wide), intensely blue-green cultivar is one of many non-registered,
Tardiana-type
hosta. It was originated by
Dr. Ralph (Herb) Benedict of Michigan and registered on his behalf by Rod Kuenster of Iowa in 2010. The leaves are
broadly ovate, moderately wavy and glaucous on top with pointed tips. Lavender
flowers with dark lavender stripes bloom from mid-July into August. It is noted for its intense color and thick substance.
