This cultivar is a
seedling of
H. 'Sieboldiana' which was
registered in 2003 by Peter and Jean Ruh of Ohio on behalf of the originator,
Heinze
Klose of Germany. It develops into a giant size (30
inches high by 36 inches wide) plant with chartreuse to
gold colored foliage. The leaves are deeply lobed at the
base, oblong to ovate in shape and have slightly rippled
margins. Pale
purple flowers bloom from late July into August.
The
registration materials state: "...yellow with
shades of green; fast grower; good texture." According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "....the number of vein pairs (fewer), flower color
(more lavender), and flowering period (much later) indicate a hybrid
background."
