This cultivar is a
seedling of a Tardiana-type
hosta and it was registered in 2003 by
Peter and Jean
Ruh of Ohio on behalf of the originator,
Heinz Klose of
Staudengärtnerei Klose in Germany. It develops into a medium size plant
about 14 inches high by 34 inches wide with powdery,
blue-green foliage. The leaves are ovate shaped,
slightly corrugated and have thick substance. Pale
lavender flowers in clusters bloom during late July to
mid-August.
Schmid (1991) says, "Reported
by Klose to be the bluest of the
German tardianas. The
name means "Blue Venus".
