According
to
The Genus HOSTA by
W. George Schmid (1991), this
is a reversion (sport) of the streaked cultivar, H. 'Beatrice'.
It is a medium size hosta which stands 11 inches high and about 25 inches wide
which was originated by
Sandra Bond of
Goldbrook Plants in England. The leaves
have a narrow elliptic form and thin substance. Bright purple
flowers bloom in late July followed by viable seeds.
Since the mother plant is a streaked mutation of the
green variety,
H. sieboldii spathulata, that means: H. 'Beatrice Green' or
H. 'Green Beatrice'
=
H. sieboldii
spathulata.
