This cultivar is a
seedling of an H. 'Ginko
Craig' F1 seedling and it was registered in
2003 by
Steve Chamberlain of New York. It is a large size plant about 20
inches high with a spread of around 42 inches. The
foliage is medium green and slightly rippled. Pale
purple flowers bloom from late July into September.
According
to a Google search, "In J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional universe of
Middle-earth, Isengard, a translation of the Sindarin Angrenost,
was a large fortress. Both names mean "Iron fortress", though
Isengard has a second meaning of "West Guard"."
