Hosta 'Academy Faux Sedge'
 

Registered by Steve Chamberlain of New York in 2008, this small size (6 inches high by 17 inches wide) cultivar is of unidentified parentage. It has medium green foliage which is slightly rippled, lanceolate, slightly wavy and dull on top. Purple striped flowers bloom from mid-July into August followed by dark purplish green seed pods.

According to the registration materials, this cultivar is, "Vigorous, small, lance-leafed hosta that looks like a sedge, lacks synchronous blooming, extended bloom period."
