This 1995 introduction
of unidentified parentage originated by
Chick Wasitis of Bridgewood Gardens in Maryland was registered in 2001. It
grows to a medium size about 14 inches high by 36 inches wide. Its leaves are
broadly ovate,
heart shaped and have wavy edges. They are of thick substance
and are somewhat puckered. It bears pale lavender flowers in
August.
From the
Field Guide to Hostas by Mark Zilis (2014), "N Hosta
collection is complete without 'Sergeant Pepper'. Its
combination of a wide gold margin and light green center is a
rarity, and it exhibits a good growth rate, reaching maturity
about three or four years after planting."
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "There is more gold margin than green center to the
leaf."
