This medium size hosta was registered by
Mary Chastain of
Lakeside Acres Nursery in Tennessee in 2002. It grows to 12 inches in height and 3 feet wide with
foliage that is convexly cupped. The medium purple flowers bloom
in August.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "No doubt this has
H. yingeri in its background, based on its flowers and the
appearance of its foliage. It's one of those unusual hostas that
you can't stop looking at. The super-shiny, dark green leaves
belie the notion that green-leaved plants can't be exciting."
