This self-pollinated seedling of H. 'Tsuma Tajima' was registered by Dr. Ralph (Herb) and Dorothy Benedict of Michigan in 2004. It is a small size plant (10 inches high by 28 inches wide) that has medium green foliage with unstable creamy yellow streaked variegation. The ovate leaves are slightly rippled and very shiny on top and bottom with deep purple speckling 3/4 of the way up the petiole.

Medium lavender colored flowers bloom from September into October on reddish purple scapes 11 to 14 inches tall. It sets viable seeds in medium green pods that are streaked in pale green

The registration materials state: "...streaked and mottled with red-purple speckling 3/4 up petiole and full length of flower scapes...streaked and mottled colors turn creamy white to pale yellow."

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "This cultivar honors the maiden name of Hideko Gowen... Tsuma Tajima was her mother's name."
