Originated by
Peter Postlewaite
of Illinois, this cultivar was registered in
2021
as an open-pollinated seedling of H. ventricosa
'Aureomaculata'. It is a small to medium size (11 inches
high by 34 inches wide) hosta with dark green foliage. The
ovate leaves are relatively flat and slightly shiny on
top. It bears pale purple, tubular shape flowers with
stripes from mid-July into August.
According to the Registration materials: "Vigorous hybrid with
small to medium size dark green leaves. Purple flowers
appear two weeks later than
H. ventricosa
species...becomes slightly more green later in the
season..."
