This non-registered
cultivar of unidentified parentage was originated by
Van
Wade of Wade and Gatton Nursery (Closed 2019) of Ohio. The giant size hosta (29 inches high by 85
inches wide) with medium green colored, slightly
corrugated foliage.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "The Eel River Indians lived in northern Indiana and
derived their name from a local river."
