This seedling was registered by Paul Aden of New York in 1976 as a hybrid of H. 'Aden No. 355' × H. 'Aden No. 353'. It forms a large size (25 inches high) mound and has near white flowers in late June to early July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), this cultivar "...ranks highly among blue-leaved cultivars for intensity of color and substance."

An article in The Hosta Journal (2016 Vol. 47 No. 2) states that this also sold under the Tradename or Trademark of H. BLUE BOUNTY.
